Nurnberger Funnel
was 'invented'
in 1647
by the politician,
educator
and poet
Georg Philipp Harsdorffer
(1607-58)
and improved
by a number of
his fellow countrymen
throughout
the following century.
It could be used
successfully
on people
of any age group
from kindergarten
and up,
wholly regardless of
their previous
learning and
their stature in life,
as shown by
these old postcards.
