
Notes: Cerdic, the first King of Wessex
(West Saxony), was a Saxon adventurer in the latter half of the 5th
century.
With the fall of the empire the Romans had left the British Isles in
the year 410 A.D.
Cerdic's Saxon name is unknown and there are several different
versions of his descendency. (See also the Angli of Bede).
